Prototype Info

The inspiration for this Log Cabin kit was the oldest log cabin in Georgetown, Colorado. Photos of it may be found in the book, The Mineral Belt Volume 2 by David Digerness. This structure was in use as a residence until the widening of Interstate 70 forced it to be moved. It is representative of many such dwellings throughout the country with the exception that this one had the ends of the logs covered by planking instead of left open such as many may consider the only proper way for a log cabin to look. This detail was faithfully reproduced in this kit as well as excellent bark/wood graining on the logs and other areas. Many of these type buildings have found a new life from the 1970's onward as specialty stores, offices, and studios and so would be appropriate on almost ANY era layout.

No HO Scale Layout ,including HO, HOn3, HOn30, HOn2 1/2, and Proto: 87,
should be without this Great little Structure.

Small enough to fit anywhere.

All with the ease of building a few pieces and painting.

Great First Building or a nice addition for the advanced Layout Builder.

A one night project.
