Prototype info:
Ophir Tram House was used to process and transfer the raw ore from the mines to rail cars. This was done by bringing the raw ore in through the rear of the building on a suspended aerial tramway and storing it in a bin to be later loaded in rail cars. Our model captures the tram house as it looked in operation about 1938.
The tram house was modified many times over the years of it's operation and as such looked different from year to year.
